Reduce heating energy use by 5%.

Transport

Reduce unnecessary purchases and packaging.

2. How We Will Put the Plan Into Practice

Months 1–3: Identify areas where energy and materials are being wasted. Remind everyone to switch off unused equipment and reduce unnecessary printing.

Months 4–6: Encourage recycling, reduce unnecessary travel and review heating and electricity use.

Months 7–9: Check progress using energy bills, purchase receipts and simple written checklists.

Months 10–12: Review what has improved and identify further opportunities to reduce emissions.

3. Monitoring Progress

Progress will be checked every three months by:

  • Comparing electricity and gas bills.
  • Checking fuel use or vehicle mileage.
  • Reviewing paper purchasing and waste disposal.
  • Keeping a simple written record of improvements.

No recordings, filming or specialist monitoring equipment will be required.

4. Responsibility

A nominated person will be responsible for making sure the actions are followed and carrying out a simple quarterly review.

5. Overall Commitment

We are committed to reducing our carbon footprint through practical, affordable and achievable changes. We will aim to use less energy, reduce waste, minimise unnecessary travel and make more sustainable purchasing decisions.

Our overall target is to work towards a 10% reduction in carbon emissions over 12 months, measured against our starting energy and fuel use where information is available.
